The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is home to some of the freshest produce and goods in our area. Vendors typically sell fruits, vegetables, freshly picked flowers, local seafood, canned goods, and snacks. They have everything you need to make a meal, and the non-perishables are great to take home with you!
Our Farmers Market Summer Salad Recipe
The beauty of a farmers market summer salad is that you can use whatever produce is available! Fresh produce speaks for itself– you hardly have to flavor or season it at all. The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market usually has great protein options like shrimp that you can grill up to make the salad a meal, or you can use it as a side dish. Here’s what we like to include:
- Salad greens such as spinach, butter lettuce, or romaine
- Three or more veggies such as tomatoes, cucumbers, corn (you can cut it straight off the cob onto your salad), radishes, peppers, and/or sweet onion
- Top with fresh herbs and a light dressing. To make our dressing, we use olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, and garlic.
- Cheese and protein are optional
