Get Your Caffeine Fix At These Delicious Coffee Shops in Charleston

Second State Coffee

Second State Coffee is a staple around Charleston with four locations around the Lowcountry. Their first shop opened a decade ago in Downtown Charleston. Two more locations are in Mount Pleasant not far from Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island. The last location, under the name Broom Wagon Coffee, calls West Ashley home which isn’t far from Folly Beach. They roast their beans locally and currently craft 10 different blends. They even have their own matcha blend. If you stop in during breakfast, the shops offer cafe favorites like baked goods and sandwiches.

Mercantile and Mash

Much more than just a coffee shop, Mercantile and Mash combines coffee with whiskey, wine, butcher, grocery, and dining all in an awesome modern space. If you are working remotely and want a cool place to plugin in Charleston, this is a great spot. And if you’re looking for some steaks to grill in your beach house, you can pick up some great cuts.

Bitty and Beau’s Coffee

Bitty and Beau’s Coffee is, like they like to say, “more than just a cup of coffee.” The shop hires people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and by doing so, empowers them and creates and more inclusive community. It’s not just a great idea for a business; Bitty and Beau’s is easily one of the best coffee shops in Charleston! If you’re not much of a coffee perfect, we recommend a breakfast sandwich or smoothie.

Vintage Coffee Cafe

Known for their great outdoor space under large live oaks, Vintage Coffee Cafe offers a classic coffee menu along with sandwiches and wood-fired pizzas. If you’re staying on Sullivan’s Island of Isle of Palms, it’s a great spot to grab lunch and a mid-day pick-me-up because it’s a quick drive from either beach. While you’re there, you can sit back and relax under the shady trees; you are on vacation after all!

Kudu Coffee and Craft Beer

It’s all in the name, Kudu Coffee and Craft Beer is a popular spot to get an iced coffee and an iced cold beer. Don’t expect to get work done here though; the shop doesn’t have wifi to encourage its customers to enjoy good conversation. They have a great courtyard in Downtown Charleston to do so and often host live music.

Clerks Coffee Company

Located within Hotel Emeline in Downtown Charleston, Clerks Coffee Company makes a great iced coffee on the go when you’re exploring our historic city. The shop is next to the Charleston City Market and just two blocks from King Street.
