The Best Companies That Offer Charleston Culinary Tours

Charleston Culinary Tours

Charleston Culinary Tours is one of the most well-known food and drink tour companies in the area. They offer several different and unique tours, each providing you with a distinct part of the Lowcountry’s restaurant scene. Their two most popular tours are the Downtown Charleston Culinary Tour and the Upper King Street Culinary Tour. The Downtown tour takes you through Charleston’s Historic French Quarter and the City Market while exploring some of the country’s oldest streets. The two-and-a-half-hour tour includes several food tastings and a fully narrated tour by a certified Charleston tour guide. The Upper King tour includes the same but explores the amazing restaurants along this historic area of the city. Be sure to check out all of their tours on their website.

Bulldog Tours

Bulldog Tours has similar offerings as Charleston Culinary Tours and also features historical and ghost tours. We recommend their Charleston Strolls and Savor the Flavors Package. It includes their Charleston Strolls History Walking Tour and the Savor the Flavors of Charleston Walking Food Tour for one reduced price. This doesn’t combine the two tours but gives the opportunity to experience both and get the most out of your Charleston Coats vacation! On their website, you’ll find even more tours including their South of Broad food tour.

Secret Food Tours

Unlike the other two culinary tour options, Secret Food Tours offers just one tour but is sure to pack in a full foodie experience! The tour takes you through Charleston’s French Quarter for about three-and-a-half hours. You’ll get the chance to learn about the city’s history while tasting the dishes that have made the Lowcountry famous. You can also upgrade your tour to include three alcoholic beverages to sip along the way.

Why You Should Visit the Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse

About the Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse

Sullivan's Island lighthouse

Also known as “Charleston Light,” The Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse is located at Station 18 1/2 Street. Although it was built in 1962, it’s considered one of the “newest” lighthouses in the United States. With its triangular shape rather than the iconic cylindrical shape most lighthouses have, it is also recognized as one of the most modern lighthouses in the country. “Charleston Light” is maintained by the National Park Service with help from the United State Coast Guard. It’s not open to the public but can easily be observed from the beach and the surrounding grounds.

What Makes the Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse Special

The lighthouse is a well-loved and admired landmark of not only Sullivan’s Island but the Charleston Coast as a whole. It’s perfect for the backdrop of any beach picture and perfectly captures the local charm of the area. If you are a lighthouse lover, this unique structure should be at the top of your list of sites to see on your vacation!
